I trained as a Humanistic Integrative counsellor at the Wealden Institute of Psychology. I qualified in March 2018. My training involved learning about the theoretical models of Person Centred approach, Gestalt, and Transactional analysis, alongside the attachment theory, the skilled helper, Cognitive Behavioural therapy. During my training, I attended to my own therapy every week until I qualified.

Now qualified, I continue to further my knowledge by attending continuous professional development days, reading, listening to blogs and podcasts, attending webinars, etc. The learning never stops, as, to me, working with people is holistic and also it moves with its environment. The world changes and evolves, and so do the people in it.

Humanistic means I believe that every human being can change or adapt given the right circumstances. Integrative describes that I draw from different theories of psychotherapy, in my case Person-centered approach, Gestalt and transactional analysis.

Having had children in the last few years, I have also developed a keen interest in attachment theory.

I like for my client to say what it is they want to get out of therapy, and then I will support you in getting closer to that goal. I will spend a lot of the sessions listening to you and reflecting, but I will also gently challenge you (if I deem it appropriate to do so) in order to help you move forward towards the change you wish to make.

Being an integrative counsellor means that I will use various tools and theories in response to what you might bring to the session.

I am French and I have lived in the UK for 18 years. I welcome people for whom English is not their native language, I have an understanding of using English as a second language and how it can sometimes be frustrating to communicate. I can work in English and French.
